The action follows the distressing incident that occurred last Thursday at about 8 am, igniting national concern over the safety of schoolchildren.

Strengthening Security Measures

The Inspector General, during a visit to Kaduna State alongside top officials including the Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Force Intelligence Department, Habu Sani, announced this strategic initiative. According to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police force’s commitment to ensuring the students’ safe return through both kinetic and non-kinetic means remains unwavering. This deployment aims to enhance security in the affected community and expedite the rescue operation.

Kayode Egbetokun, recognizing the gravity of the situation, conveyed his sympathies to the people and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, assuring them of the Nigeria Police Force’s resolve to secure the release of the abducted students and apprehend the culprits.

Community and Government Collaboration

In response to the police force’s actions, Kaduna State’s Governor expressed the state government’s support for the newly deployed mobile police unit. He also called upon the media to practice responsible journalism during this critical period, highlighting the role of accurate reporting in managing the crisis effectively.

During his visit, the Inspector General also engaged with police officers stationed at the Police Command and Police College in Kaduna.
