Dr. Nsikak Akpan, an academic from Nigeria, is embarked on a task to achieve the record for longest uninterrupted lecture in the world. That Akpan has secured sanction from Guinness to give a lecture for 150 hours between September 23 and 30 at the Foreign Links College, Moro, Osun State.
The record of 139 hours 52 minutes and 42 seconds has been held by an Indian professor Arvin Mishra since 2014 and will be broken if Akpan succeeds.
The content to be delivered in the lecture will be “Relationships between Man’s Environment and Health, with emphasis on Environmental Conservation Benefit, especially to Man’s Health.
Dr. Nsikak Akpan, a lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, hopes it will create awareness of the implications of environmental pollution and contribute positively to the academic community.

In this way, Akpan seeks to set new record in marathon lectures and place Nigeria on the world map.
