The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has Paid its condolence to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno over the death of his wife, Patience Eno who died due to brief illness. Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, the National President of PFN, expressed surprise at the news and offered his condolences, according to a release by the Bureau of Media and Publicity of PFN in Ibadan, Oyo State.
I come to you on behalf of millions of pentecostal in Nigeria to express our sentiments and prayed for you and your family during this occasions,” said Bishop Wale-Oke. To the late first lady, he referred to her as a compassionate woman and a very special mother. He also offered scriptural comfort, quoting Second Corinthians 4:8-9, resiliency theme, specific to overcoming hardships.
A message of hope and strength
Acording to The Punch, Bishop Wale-Oke also prayed for Governor Umo Eno beseeching God to give him the strength to continue his duties both as a pastor and governor. He prayed the soul of one Mrs. Patience Eno rest, noting that the Pentecostal fraternity was with the governor during what he described as a difficult period in his life.
Also, it is important to make mention of the fact that the message delivered to the audience by the PFN focused on faith and perseverance, an aspect that the Governor Eno can relate with easy since he is Pentecostal preacher. The fellowship said it was still praying for him and appreciated that he has to perform his duties for the people while grappling with the loss.
