This was recently revealed by Abdulmumuni Abiola, the son of the late Nigerian billionaire chief Moshood Abiola, during a recent podcast] Abiola’s will left £650,000 for his first four wives: Simbiat, Kudirat, Moriamo and Idiat.
Speaking to Channels TV, Abdulmumuni disclosed that his elder brother, Kola Abiola has withheld the inheritance funds that belongs to him and his other siblings and this has remained a sour point.
The funds were allocated as follows: Simbiat would be paid £300,000 and Kudirat £150,000, while both Moriamo and Idiat would be paid £100,000 each. Abdulmunmuni said that his mother, Kudirat, was entitled to her share in spite of her demise but Kola cited the British law to withhold it.
The family had to go as far as conducting DNA tests to determine who among the children are entitled to benefits, but no one reached out, Abdulmumuni said.
Financial problems and envy
Abdulmumuni, on the ‘Mic On Podcast’, spoke of how he struggled once he lost both his parents. He said Kola also sold their mother’s house in the UK without consulting the rest of the family.
According to Vanguard, Abdulmumuni pointed out that these actions are parts of the scheme to make his side of the family poor, saying that he cannot forgive Kola for that.
As the estate of the late MKO Abiola remains an essential part of Nigerian history, the current conflict raises the questions about the complications in the life of the family of the powerful business tycoon and the politician.
