Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke on Monday signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law. The House of Assembly increased the budget to ₦427 billion from a initial ₦390 billion proposed, before giving the Governor’s consent.
Governor Adeleke, who spoke at the signing ceremony in the Executive Council Chamber, said the effective implementation of the agreement would be to the benefit of the people of Osun.
“In the honor of that, and on the great privilege of signing Budget 2025 into law, I gave some additional remarks afterwards,” he said.
With the ₦427.7 billion allocated, the state is tagged the “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Transformation.”
Concentrates on implementation and monitoring
Governor Adeleke also directed the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure full implementation of the budget in accordance with quarterly performance benchmarks.
He said, “But because our budget performance must continue to be commendable, the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development will monitor progress closely with a view to putting in place proper measures for purposes of aligning our performance with the set targets.”
Citizens’ welfare commitment
Governor Adeleke restated his commitment to his five point agenda saying the 2025 budget will be in sync with the developed areas to enhance sustainable development. He went on to urge government officials to work hard to realise the transformation goals spelt out in the law of appropriation.
