Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has named Nancy Nathan as Acting Head of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, following the death of her predecessor, Grace Adayilo.
The appointment, announced by Wike’s aide Lere Olayinka in Abuja on Tuesday, takes immediate effect. Nathan will serve in an acting capacity until a substantive head is appointed.
Nancy Nathan steps into FCTA leadership
Nathan’s appointment follows the passing of Grace Adayilo on September 1. She becomes the new face of FCTA leadership at a critical transition period.
United Nigeria Airlines Boeing
Before this role, Nathan was Permanent Secretary of the Youth Development Secretariat at the FCTA. She previously served as Director of Finance and Administration in the minister’s office.
Appointment takes effect immediately
Her elevation is part of efforts to ensure stability in the administration while the federal government considers a permanent appointment.
