Tetracore Energy Group, a leading integrated midstream–downstream energy company in Nigeria and Africa, has announced the appointment of Oscar N. Onyema, OON, Aisha Balewa Abubakar, and Dr. Ayodele Oni to its Board of Directors.

The new board members join existing directors, President and CEO Olakunle Williams, Kemi Williams, Okezie Okah-Avae, and Oladayo Williams, expanding the board’s depth of leadership and expertise. Oscar N. Onyema, OON, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s financial and capital markets, brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across finance, energy, and technology. As the former CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (now NGX Group), he transformed the institution through transparency, investor confidence, and global engagement. His leadership earned him several awards, including Transformational Leadership in the Nigerian Capital Markets (2018) and Meritorious Service to the Development of the Stock Exchange (2021).
At Tetracore, Onyema’s deep expertise in capital markets and financial innovation will help drive new strategic partnerships and investment opportunities within Nigeria’s growing energy infrastructure sector.
Aisha Balewa Abubakar, a respected strategist and advocate for sustainable enterprise, joins with more than 30 years of experience in banking and finance. As a former Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria, she led collaborations with key global institutions including the U.S. Federal Reserve, IMF, and WAIFEM. She holds an MA in Human Resource Management and an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Her appointment reflects Tetracore’s dedication to sustainability, inclusion, and corporate governance.
Dr. Ayodele Oni, an internationally recognized energy lawyer and consultant, adds technical and regulatory depth to the board. Ranked among the world’s leading energy lawyers by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500, Oni has advised national and multinational energy firms on complex projects. His blend of legal precision and commercial insight will strengthen Tetracore’s oversight of gas commercialization, renewable energy, and infrastructure development.
