Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja. He described the encounter as warm and congratulatory.

Tinubu personally commended Soludo on his re-election, calling it a testament to the trust Ndi Anambra place in his vision for the state.

Posting on Facebook, Soludo described Tinubu’s welcome as full of warmth, a big smile, and open arms. He expressed gratitude for the president’s prompt congratulatory message on election day.

The governor said the discussion emphasised stronger regional cooperation, institutional reforms, and people-centred policies as essential for building a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.

Earlier, Soludo joined Southern governors and traditional rulers in Iperu, Ogun State, to unveil a strategy addressing security, governance, and economic challenges in the region.

The joint forum adopted measures including a zonal security fund, enhanced intelligence-sharing, advocacy for state police, and a harmonised resident identification system.

The forum also pledged to strengthen land and mining governance, tackle illegal resource exploitation, and expand the role of traditional councils in conflict resolution and grassroots mobilisation.

Soludo, as Vice Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, reaffirmed his state’s commitment to the shared agenda. Leaders collectively expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and dedication to national stability and reforms.

The meeting reinforces Southern Nigeria’s dedication to speaking with one voice on national issues while collaborating constructively with the federal government.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Soludo the winner of the off-cycle election, sweeping all 21 local government areas. Tinubu’s office earlier described the result as an affirmation of visionary leadership.
