Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has reinstated Attorney General Fidelis Mnyim after he withdrawn Benue participation in case that challenges the constitutionality of EFCC and ICPC.
Declared at the meeting of the state executive council, the decision came after Mnyim complied with the requirements for his employment reinstatement.
Background and reinstatement conditions
A Lagos High Court in Igbosere suspended Mnyim on October 23 for violating the association’s rules in joining Benue as a party in a suit against the Nigerian Constitution that sought to determine the credibility of the anti-corruption agencies.
Speaking to newsmen, Chief Press Secretary Sir Tersoo Kula further said the banking giant was reinstated after he displaced the state in the legal process as configured by the governor for his return.
Rural development and social initiative permissions by the council
The state executive council also passed off big tickets, namely ₦30, 200,000 for the five rural access across senatorial zones and ₦567,000,000 for compensation on appropriations of lands in makurdi.
Also, the council promised to grant ₦10 million asylum to the Nigerian Legion for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day. And further passed a bill to create the Benue State Signage and Advertisement Agency to oversee advertisements.
This move shows that Governor Alia has brought governance and development necessities that pertain to infrastructure, social assistance, and regulatory changes for Benue State.
