Bauchi Police Arrest Drug Dealer, Recover Stolen Goods Worth Millions

Police probe suspects after recovering goods worth over N13 million

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected drug dealer, Kabiru Adamu, popularly known as “Suck and Die,” during a raid conducted by the Rapid Response Squad at Tudun Wadan Dan Iya (Bayani Gari), Bauchi.

According to a report by Punch, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, the operation, led by CSP Suleiman M. Tambuwal, resulted in the seizure of suspected methylene chloride (A50) and Diamond Rubber Solution. Wakil disclosed that 264 pieces of OSHN Diamond Rubber Solution, 19 bottles of methylene chloride, and 363 empty bottles were recovered during the raid.

Police target drug dealers and criminal networks

During interrogation, the suspect admitted that the items were supplied to him by his boss, and he was paid for selling them. He further confessed that each bottle of “Suck and Die” was sold for N300, while each piece of Diamond Rubber Solution fetched N250. The operation underscores ongoing efforts by the Bauchi Police to crack down on drug-related activities within the state.

In a related development, Wakil announced the arrest of a 23-year-old man, Ukasha Adamu, accused of involvement in multiple crimes, including criminal conspiracy, trespassing, fabrication of keys, and theft.

Recovered goods highlight scope of criminal operations

The suspect was apprehended on November 11, 2024, following an investigation conducted by the State Intelligence Department, which uncovered a systematic modus operandi targeting local businesses. The investigation revealed that Adamu and his accomplices had been surveilling stores in the Bauchi metropolitan area, inspecting keyholes, replicating keys, and stealing valuable items.

The police recovered several stolen goods, including 150 bags of 25kg parboiled rice valued at N6 million, 43 cartons of IRS spaghetti worth N774,000, 20 cartons of Emperor vegetable oil valued at N1.44 million, and 42 cartons of liquid fertilizer estimated at N5.04 million. In total, the recovered goods are valued at over N13.25 million.

Wakil emphasized that the suspects’ criminal activities posed significant threats to public safety and the local economy, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station. He also encouraged businesses to enhance security measures to protect their properties and prevent theft. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend remaining suspects and recover additional stolen goods.

The Bauchi Police Command reiterated its commitment to tackling criminal activities, safeguarding public safety, and ensuring the protection of residents’ lives and property in the state.
