Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashima Shetima departed Nigeria on Wednesday to attend the International Exhibition on Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The conference, which will be held from 27 November to 2 December at the Abidjan Exhibition Center, will focus on sustainable policies and strategies for the development of the extractive and energy industries.
Sharing Nigeria’s energy expertise
According to Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Shettima will highlight how Nigeria has fared in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons during the event.
Nkwocha said the visit, which is at the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice Président Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, will further cement the regional corporation’s role in advancing sustainable energy solutions.
The conference also serves as a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and foster collaboration.
Strategic return
Vice President Shettima is expected to conclude his engagements and return to Abuja later on Wednesday.
The visit reflects Nigeria’s commitment to regional dialogue on energy strategies amid evolving global energy dynamics.
