The appointment of 160 Supervisory Councilors and Special Assistants to the 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo State has been approved by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Makinde appoints 160 officials for Oyo Local Governments
The appointments were made public in Ibadan on Tuesday by Ademola Ojo, the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters. 93 Supervisory Councilors and 67 Special Assistants are among the new hires; a percentage is set aside for people with disabilities (PLWDs).
Ojo claims that the choice is consistent with Governor Makinde’s dedication to inclusive governance, which guarantees that all societal groups are represented in the decision-making process.
According to Punch, the new hires were chosen on the basis of their qualifications, ability to support the administration’s sustainable development strategy, particularly at the local level, and merit.

He underlined that the appointments are intended to enhance service delivery and fortify local administration.
He went on to reiterate the government’s commitment to inclusive representation by saying, “This administration believes in the talents and potential of all individuals, including persons living with disabilities.”
Ojo asked the recently appointed officials to put their communities’ well-being first, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and complete worthwhile initiatives that meet regional needs.
