Mudashiru Obasa Reinstated as Lagos Assembly Speaker

In January 2025 excessive corruption charges forced Obasa out as Speaker so Meranda replaced him becoming the first female speaker of the Assembly’s history. The period of Meranda’s leadership lasted just 49 days before she submitted her resignation on March 3, 2025 due to leadership complications caused by Obasa’s impeachment.

After the departure of Meranda Obasa assumed the position of Speaker through his colleagues’ backing.

The Lagos State House of Assembly operates as an honest institution that uses its competency to settle disagreements internally for the advantage of both the organization and the party.

Before finishing his remarks he expressed gratitude toward his colleagues while declaring his dedication to maintain work environments of peace with love under harmonious conditions.
