The police authorities arrested six individuals from a criminal organization which conducted robbery and fraud activities after coordinating multiple operations across Lagos.
Police uncover criminal syndicate
According to the intelligence report the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti followed the criminal syndicate as it stole cash of different currencies together with jewelry mobile phones ATM cards and international passports.
Arrest and recovered items
According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin who serves as spokesperson at the Lagos State Police Command the arrest took place when he confirmed it.
A covert operation conducted by armed detectives on March 14th 2025 followed the received intelligence report to lead them to suspects within the Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos. During an immediate police raid police officers arrested six people named Idowu Ajewole (M), Waheed Opeyemi (M), Samuel Bamidele (M), Ajoke Oluwaseun (F), Layide Ogunseun (F), and Adetipe Olubunmi (M).”
CSP Hundeyin reported that the police recovered two Toyota Camry vehicles alongside a storage of fake dollar bills while conducting the operation.

The discovered fake U.S. dollar bills were believed to be instrumental for carrying out fraudulent transactions.
Ongoing investigation and public warning
The investigators gained valuable information from their interview of the suspects while they stay under police detention during ongoing investigations according to Hundeyin.
Police authorities predict that the court will bring the arrestees to trial regarding robbery crimes and fraudulent transactions and possessing false money.
The Lagos State Police Command asks people to maintain alertness about any strange activities while directing them to contact police agencies for reporting such incidents.
