EFCC Declares Four Wanted for CBEX Crypto Investment Fraud

Commission seeks public help to locate crypto fraud suspects

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission declared four individuals wanted for alleged involvement in Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) investment fraud.

The Commission named Seyi Oloyede, Emmanuel Uko, Adefowora Oluwanisola, and Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun in a public notice released Friday afternoon.

Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, reaffirmed the EFCC’s commitment to tackling financial crimes, especially in the growing crypto space.

Crypto fraud suspects traced to Lagos and Ibadan addresses

According to EFCC investigations, Oloyede and Uko were last located at No. 166, Idimu Egbeda Road in Lagos State.

Meanwhile, investigators traced Oluwanisola and Olaonipekun to 13, Jimoh Odutola Street, Ogungpa area, Ibadan in Oyo State.

The EFCC urged anyone with helpful information about the suspects’ whereabouts to contact their offices across Nigeria immediately.

Members of the public can reach the EFCC at locations in Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja.

The commission continues efforts to track and apprehend individuals behind crypto-related financial crimes targeting unsuspecting Nigerian investors.

Federal High Court grants EFCC power to arrest six linked to CBEX

According to PUNCH, the Federal High Court in Abuja authorized the EFCC to arrest and detain six individuals.

Justice Emeka Nwite granted the order Thursday after hearing an ex parte application filed by EFCC counsel Fadila Yusuf.

Those listed in the motion include Adefowora Olanipekun, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, Seyi Oloyede, Avwerosuo Otorudo, and Chukwuebuka Ehirim.

The court’s order followed allegations linking the suspects to a fraud scheme involving over $1 billion through the CBEX platform.

Authorities continue to pursue criminal proceedings while seeking public support to locate all suspects involved in the massive fraud.
