In the Isuaniocha village on Saturday, the Anambra State Police Command saved the victim, retrieved his car, and stopped an abduction attempt.
Kidnappers abduct man and his SUV in Agulu
According to the police, the victim was kidnapped in Anaocha Local Government by a group of five, and the event took place in Awka North Local Government Area.
The victim was kidnapped in the evening in Amatu village in Agulu by the attackers, who were driving a black Toyota Corolla.
Before the authorities received an emergency warning, the kidnappers driven off after forcing the victim into his own black Lexus 350 SUV.
Police officers from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu-Ukwu, reacted quickly and began a technology-driven manhunt for the escaping suspects.
The police chased the kidnappers to Isuaniocha, where they fled, leaving the victim and his Lexus 350 SUV behind.
Before escorting the victim to a safe place, the officers promptly secured the scene, recovered the vehicle, and saved the victim without incident.
In a formal press release released on Sunday, state Police Command spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga verified the operation’s success.
According to Ikenga, the agents moved quickly and effectively, using surveillance and intelligence tools to outmaneuver the suspects and halt additional illegal conduct.
He clarified that the victim is still secure in protective custody until additional investigation is conducted after being debriefed by law police.

Ikenga stated that in order to track down the suspects, the Police Command has increased local monitoring and is collaborating with local stakeholders.
He underlined that measures are being taken to neutralize the kidnapping group and stop such crimes in Anambra communities in the future.
According to Punch, as part of its ongoing commitment to safety and security in the state, the command asked the public to be on the lookout and report any suspicious activity.
In order to address growing threats and maintain public trust in the security system, police reassured locals that they are intensifying enforcement efforts.
