Vice Admiral Ibok-Etteh Ibas (retd), the head of the sole administration in Rivers State, has once again made clear his commitment to strengthening important institutions and ensuring that public service stays efficient.

During the opening ceremonies of the four-day workshop, Ibas urged officials to use strong vision and flexible ways of leading to encourage growth that is sustainable.

The workshop is organized with the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and attended by permanent secretaries, local government administrators and directors from key ministries in Rivers State.

Improving ways to manage and run a country

Ibas believes that the leadership program is designed to develop top officials and help create a government that is quick to respond and meets its goals.

Rivers wins appreciation from NIPSS

The Director-General of NIPSS, Professor Ayo Omotayo, praised what the Rivers State Government is doing and remarked that the workshop is in line with the pressing matters of modern government.

“The organizers carefully prepared this course to help participants tackle leadership challenges and apply recent strategies for government collaboration,” he added.

Ibas vision, a focus on learning all the time

In addition, Professor Ibibia Worika, the Secretary to the State Government, reported that Ibas’ vision for education involves strengthening both staff and institutions in the state.

To keep up with today’s changes, we must keep learning. He believes this session brings the government closer to becoming more innovative and helpful.

In addition, for the rest of the week, the workshop focuses on teams working together, infrastructure improvement and putting citizens first.
