The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered the price of petrol at the depot from N850 to N820 per liter. This is meant to help both marketers and customers save money.

Anthony Chiejina, the refinery’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, said in a statement on Tuesday that the price decrease will start on August 12, 2025. The refinery also said that the change was part of their larger plan to stabilize the fuel market and help the economy flourish.

The statement continued, “As part of our unwavering commitment to national development, Dangote Petroleum Refinery assures the public of a consistent and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products.”

Refinery shows off 4,000 vehicles that run on CNG

The business also said that starting on August 15, 2025, it will start to roll out 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks in stages to distribute fuel across Nigeria. Management noted that the project further shows how much they want to focus on sustainable energy solutions and running their business well.

A promise to grow and also switch to renewable energy

Furthermore Dangote Refinery is making itself a stabilizer in Nigeria’s fuel market and a driver of the country’s energy transition by lowering gas prices and investing in logistics that run on CNG. The refinery is still the biggest in Africa and is key to Nigeria’s long-term plans for energy security.
