The event, which takes place on Wednesday at the Lagos Food Bank Warehouse, forms part of the organisation’s Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program. The initiative provides essential relief to families facing hunger and the growing strain of Nigeria’s cost-of-living crisis.

Faith’s participation marks a return to LFBI’s service efforts. He previously volunteered under the organisation’s #NUMEPlan, which focuses on treating and feeding malnourished children. Announcing the collaboration on X, the Lagos Food Bank wrote, “Big Brother changed his life, now he’s choosing to change the world. Faith Adewale is not just using his voice; he’s using his platform to give back.”

In a follow-up message, the organisation added, “After volunteering under the #NUMEPlan, where malnourished children are treated and fed, he made a promise to return and do more. On October 15, he’s keeping that promise at our warehouse for an impactful TEFAP program to serve vulnerable families.”

Agricovery program tackles food insecurity

Since his disqualification from Big Brother Naija Season 10, Faith has reflected on his journey, revealing that he took a ₦5 million loan to participate in the show, an experience he described as “transformational.” Despite the setback, he has redirected his energy toward purpose-driven work, thanking his supporters, “the Faithfuls,” for standing by him.

According to Punch, Lagos Food Bank also announced partnerships with five NGOs, JKO Heart Foundation, McDera Food Bank, The Glow Foundation, Faith Moves Foundation, and I Care For All Foundation, through its Food Bank Network Nigeria initiative. The collaboration, it said, is strengthening communities and tackling hunger nationwide.

The organisation further highlighted its Agricovery Program, which rescues surplus farm produce and redistributes it to aged, disabled, and low-income families affected by rising costs. Nigeria’s agricultural landscape, it noted, remains paradoxical, abundant in output but riddled with food waste and widespread hunger.

“Our mission is to bridge that gap,” the Lagos Food Bank said. “No one should go hungry while food goes to waste.”

Through initiatives like this, Faith partners Lagos Food Bank to bring hope, nourishment, and dignity to those struggling to meet basic needs — a reminder that small actions can yield lasting impact when driven by compassion.
