Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed 17 terrorists, arrested 85 suspects, and rescued 10 kidnapped victims in a series of coordinated operations across several regions within the past 48 hours.

A credible source at the Army Headquarters told the News Agency of Nigeria that troops conducted operations across multiple theaters nationwide. The Army arrested Boko Haram informants, logistics suppliers, terrorist collaborators, drug peddlers, and kidnappers during the coordinated missions. Troops safely evacuated the rescued victims, who are now undergoing profiling and medical evaluation by military authorities.

In the Northeast, troops under Operation Hadin Kai sustained an aggressive campaign against Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters. The operations, codenamed Desert Sanity IV and Diligent Search, led to multiple encounters with terrorists in Borno and Adamawa States.

Troops from the 202 and 222 Battalions came under ambush near Goni Kurmi and Kashomri villages in Borno State. They were on an operation in Konduga Local Government Area but fought back fiercely and neutralized several attacking terrorists. Soldiers of the 195th Battalion arrested a Boko Haram informant in Jere while working with the Department of State Services. They tracked the notorious suspect, a ransom collector, through monitored phone calls and suspicious financial transactions.

Security forces sustain counterterrorism pressure

The troops recovered an AK-47 rifle previously stolen by terrorists and rescued two kidnapped victims who escaped captivity. They also arrested three logistics suppliers conveying food and other materials to ISWAP cells located within the Alagarno forest area.

In Adamawa State, soldiers of the 144 Battalion intercepted seven vehicles and nine motorcycles carrying 368 bags of cement. The consignment was suspected to be destined for terrorist hideouts operating within the remote parts of the Madagali Local Government Area.

Troops repelled infiltration attempts by terrorists in Buratai, Biu Local Government Area of Borno, with air support from the Nigerian Air Force. In Sokoto South, security operatives apprehended sixty-nine suspected drug peddlers involved in funding and aiding terrorist networks across the region. Another five suspected terrorist collaborators were arrested in Gudu Local Government Area following credible intelligence and coordinated field operations. The troops recovered ₦4.77 million in cash, six mobile phones, and two bicycles abandoned by fleeing insurgents.

The recovery was made during a clearance operation conducted along the volatile Maiduguri–Damboa Road within Borno State.

In the North West, troops under Operation Fansan Yamma conducted clearance and stabilisation operations across parts of Sokoto and Zamfara States. They also rescued one civilian who sustained injuries during a terrorist attack along the Faru–Bagabbuzi Road in Maradun.

In the North Central region, troops under Operation Enduring Peace rescued a kidnapped victim in Dorowa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. Another raid carried out in Rawaya Village, Gashish District, led to the recovery of multiple firearms and ammunition. Recovered items included two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, a revolver pistol, six magazines, and 1,200 rounds of ammunition.

Troops kill 17 terrorists in South South raids

According to Vanguard, in Nasarawa, soldiers of Operation Whirl Stroke arrested two suspected kidnappers in Idadu Town, Doma Local Government Area, while another unit dismantled a terrorist camp in Gbagir, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue, seizing phones and customised vehicle plates.

In the South South, troops under Operation Delta Safe intensified actions against oil theft. Soldiers in Omoku, Rivers State, intercepted a wooden boat carrying 840 liters of illegally refined dual-purpose kerosene and arrested one suspect. Another patrol in Ughelli North, Delta State, seized a vehicle conveying 2,500 liters of illegal condensate.

Across all operational fronts, soldiers recovered 15 assorted weapons, 21 magazines, and over 1,200 rounds of ammunition, alongside cash and other logistics materials. The Nigerian Army reiterated its dedication to upholding operational momentum and preventing terrorists and criminal groups from moving freely across the country.
