Though official details were scarce, a government source familiar with the agenda said the meeting focuses on security concerns, fast-tracking infrastructural development, and strengthening regional integration under the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN).
The governors are expected to deliberate on collaborative security initiatives and review operations of the Amotekun Corps, the regional security network, to enhance its capacity amid emerging threats.
The session underscores the region’s commitment to coordinated action against criminal elements. It also signals plans to improve joint response mechanisms while aligning security with broader developmental objectives across the South-West.
