The Police Service Commission has raised alarm over false claims of ongoing Nigeria Police recruitment. Social media and unofficial websites have circulated misleading portals, the Commission said.

Torty Njoku Kalu, PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, warned citizens that fraudsters are behind these fake schemes. Kalu warned the public that these publications are fake and completely misleading.

The statement emphasized that no recruitment exercise into the Nigeria Police Force is currently underway. PSC reiterated that official recruitment announcements will only appear through verified channels. These include reputable newspapers, the Commission’s website (www.psc.gov.ng), and formal press releases.

Citizens must ignore online scams and false portals

Kalu urged Nigerians to disregard any unofficial portals claiming to offer police jobs. He said any recruitment portal not listed on the Commission’s official website is fraudulent.

The Commission recommended citizens to report questionable recruitment links to authorities promptly. The advisory aims to protect job searchers from falling prey to scammers who exploit the yearning for employment.

PSC also said that formal recruitment information will make it clear how to apply, how much it will cost, and when the deadline is. People are urged to check all claims before posting information online.

The warning comes amid increased complaints of police recruitment scam alert targeting job seekers. PSC said such alerts are part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the integrity of police recruitment and maintain public trust.
