- Civil society Coalition frowns at Zamfara state government’s inability to curb acts of banditry.
- Demands for more disclosure and more backing for military measures to bring order.
- A group of questions was directed to Governor Lawal regarding his concern with bandit insecurity in the region.
This deterioration has led a civil society group; the *Situation Room on the War Against Banditry* to express perceived dissatisfaction on the ability of Zamfara State leadership in addressing the banditry crisis of the region.
Speaking during a press briefing in Abuza on Friday, Nwogu Ndubisi, the convener of the group, accused the state of worsening insecurity with its approach to notorious bandit leader, Turji.
Ndubisi explained that the bandits have wreaked a lot of havoc in Zamfara, stressing that the rural populace are still being kidnapped, killed, and their cattle stolen.
Mr. Falana further said that many of these communities have had to surrender to paying bandits for protection to keep away from being attacked.
The group also attacked Governor Dauda Lawal over his reaction to what the military has just achieved by neutralising Kachalla Halilu and demanded that the governor give more support to the military taskforce operatives.
