Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun said there has been 80 percent implementation of the 2024 budget saying the accomplishment was achieved on the strength of revenue reforms, increased efficiency and the reduction of leakages.
Increase from 40 percent budget to 75 percent
At a town hall meeting on Monday, Abiodun who was represented by his Chief Economic Adviser and Finance Commissioner, Dapo Okubadejo, said his administration has recorded a huge leap from less than 40 percent budget implementation in 2019 to an average of 75 percent, among others.
Mechanisms to enhance revenue
To enhance revenue without burdening the citizens the state government had introduced mechanisms in line with its development pillars such as promoting digitalization, and making processes easier to collect taxes and other revenue sources to help grow the revenue base.
According to Vanguard, Olaolu Olabimtan, the Commissioner for Budget Planning thanked the public for their contributions to the 2025 budget that is yet to come. The Olu of Ilaro and also other local leaders urged more infrastructure improvements to boost regional economic activities.
