Prophet Fufeyin NAFDAC claims

KEY POINTS

  • Prophet Fufeyin denies claims of using NAFDAC to mislead the public.
  • The church asserts it operates under constitutional rights to religious freedom.
  • The ministry accuses the complainant of forging receipts in the case.

The pastor and general Overseer of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, has refuted all allegations that his church was involved in the use of the National Agency for Food and Drugs (NAFDAC) name to deceive the church to use spiritual items as part of its religious practices.

In a statement released by the church’s media team, and signed by spokesperson Sophia Iloyd, the ministry clarified its stance. The statement emphasized that the church operates within the law and has never misused NAFDAC’s name or authority to promote any spiritual items. According to the church, they have always respected Nigerian laws, including those of NAFDAC.

Standing by the Constitution

The statement also stressed that the church complies with the provision of the law and has not in any way abused the name and/ or authority of NAFDAC in the propagation of any spiritual commodities. The church, however, defends it, saying they have never infringed on the laws of Nigeria or NAFDAC in particular.

“This as a church is informed by our faith and the word of God; Bibles and other spiritual items have been utilized in the course of representing our faith.”

The ministry dismissed the allegation, stating that it has never forged NAFDAC’s name to dupe the public, further stating that it has never sold any consumable products or engaged in misleading advertising of any product. From the church’s perspective, the only remaining problem is a court case by one Martins Vincent Otse, with the user name, VerydarkBlackman. This case arose as a result of a steady and gradual deterioration of a lady’s health due to early complications that were detected and well handled by Gardner.

Response to NAFDAC

According to Punch, the church agreed that on 27 August 2024, NAFDAC wrote a letter to Prophet Fufeyin informing him of an investigation into the use of items such as water for miracles and healing products. However, the ministry said that it was provided with less than 12 hours to respond to the letter. Nevertheless, they moved swiftly to forward their official position to NAFDAC.

In addition, the church said that Otse had conspired to forge receipts in order to substantiate his allegations against the church. These fake receipts were different from the normal receipts that are normally prepared and issued by the accounting department of the church. As the ministry informs, police are now on the case to solve all these disparities.

Church Rejects All Accusations
The representatives of the Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry summed up his statement by saying that they have never been dishonest in their operations. He said that they were completely unaware of these allegations and called for NAFDAC to look at the evidence before spreading false information.
