The director-general of NTA, Alhaji Yakubu Mohammed, announced the new appointments. This was disclosed by the special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga. President Bola Tinubu has nominated seven executive directors for the NTA.
The appointments have been made to boost the organization’s human resource capacity. This aims to improve efficiency in its operations.
In the statement, President Tinubu reappointed Oluwakayode Ayo Adewuyi as the Executive Director of News. This position is strategic for disseminating news in the organization’s broadcasting and reporting. The president also appointed six new directors across departments. All appointees have extensive experience in their areas of specialization.
Key appointments
– Ibrahim Aliyu: Aliyu has been appointed as the International Executive Director of Special Duties. He is an experienced legal officer in matters of legal concern.
– Muhammed Mustapha: Mustapha is serving as the new Executive Director of Administration and Training. He will support staff development and administrative functions at the NTA.
– Mrs. Apinke Effiong: Effiong has taken the role of Executive Director of Finance. She is a financial marketing specialist with knowledge in treasury, management accounting, and reporting.
– Mrs. Tari Taylaur: Taylaur, an experienced Audio/Visual Producer and Creator, takes on the role of Executive Director of Programmes. She will be responsible for programme production at NTA.
– Mr. Sadique Omeiza: Omeiza has been appointed as the Executive Director of Engineering. He will ensure that the engineering aspects and broadcasting systems of the NTA run as planned.
– Mrs. Oluwakemi Fashina: Fashina, an integrated marketing communications expert, will serve as the Executive Director of Marketing. She aims to boost NTA’s revenue and market share.
According to The Punch, these appointments are expected to increase innovation and leadership within the NTA. They are also aimed at keeping the institution relevant in an era of emerging media systems.
