The National Examinations Council (NECO) has revealed that candidates who misplace their certificates must pay ₦50,000 for a reprint. NECO Registrar, Dantani Wushishi, disclosed this in a statement in Minna, Niger State, stressing that the charge is reviewed from time to time.
Furthermore, the council has explained that candidates must request all certificate reprints within one year of issuance. NECO will not entertain requests for reprints after this period. “The rate of ₦50,000 for certificate reprints is subject to change over time,” Wushishi added.
Changes in reprint and correction policy
In addition to the reprinting fee, NECO provides a one-month window for any candidate wishing to correct their examination result(s). This update aims to rationalize workflow and response time to these issues. Wushishi appealed to candidates to act promptly regarding adjustments or reprint requests.
