Agribusiness Hub In Oyo State To Be Launched By Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde will soon, in November, break ground at the proposed 3,000 heactare Agribusiness Industrial Hub in Eruwa, Ibarapa East.

According to Dr Debo Akande, Director General, Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), the project will be the largest of its kind within the state, tripling the size of the current 1,000 hectares Fashola Agribusiness Hub.

Massive Eruwa agribusiness to attract investments

Akande who revealed that Eruwa hub, which is to boost agricultural productivity and attract more agribusiness investments has already attracted investors, said that it has also enjoyed support from three Nigerian states including Oyo, Lagos and Ogun states.

While the Fashola hub has grappled with the focus of serving local markets, the aim of the Eruwa hub is to extend this approach by keeping most of the products within Nigeria and supporting local economies, he said.

State wide agricultural expansion plans

This marks the beginning of the first of future projects to aid Oyo State’s agribusinesses, as the Eruwa hub is part of a larger vision.

According to The Punch, The next focus will be the next development at the Ijaye business hub and this will cement Oyo as a leader in agriculture and agribusiness innovation now that the Eruwa hub has been completed.
