The entire family of the Lagbaja has put up a unified sorrowful note over death of Lt.Gen Taoheed Lagbaja the late Chief of Army Staff saying he did not live to know how to enjoy life beyond those military formalities.
Declaring this, the family head, Mr, Demola Lagbaja stated this while receiving condolence delegation of St. Charles grammar school Osogbo Old Boys’ Association in the family house at Ibadan.
Loss of retirement expectations
Mr. Demola Lagbaja said that the family expected that their son would retire from service and live the remaining years of his life in the comfort of a settled military man.
He was sad, but said he was proud of what Lt. Gen. Lagbaja had achieved and was ready to accept the loss as fate since “something will always remain hard that some tears will never dry,” he agreed.
Tribute from alma mater
Speaking for the St. Charles Grammar School Old Boys Association, Mr. Sola Omopo eulogized the late Army Chief for his support to the school and especially for a current project which is estimated to cost N550 million.
It noted shock at his demise and attributed the feelings to the pride and legacy he left behind.
The understanding that General Lagbaja greatly benefited many in both the military and society at large consoles his family, affirming that his legacy will endure through his achievements.
