Pastor Bolaji Idowu refutes claims of money laundering and fraud.
Bolaji Idowu, the head pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, has refuted accusations that he is involved in money laundering and fraudulent real estate transactions, describing the accusations as baseless and deceptive.
Pastor Bolaji Idowu rejects fraud and money laundering allegations.
On Tuesday, there were rumours that Idowu had been arrested in Abuja by members of the Force Criminal Investigation Department on suspicion of committing real estate fraud.
“Pastor Bolaji Idowu, known for his ‘Next Level Prayers,’ is under investigation for alleged fraudulent real estate activities and money laundering,” according to a police source.
According to the Punch, the pastor was freed following the intervention of well-known Christian figures.
Idowu, however, denied the accusations when discussing the issue at Next Level Prayers, his church’s daily prayer session, on Wednesday. He said that he does not own or engage in Nigerian real estate.
“I own no real estate in Nigeria. I only own the property that was left to me in Nigeria. He informed his congregation, “There is no property in Nigeria that I own or have purchased.”
Pastor learns of allegations through media, vows transparency.
Idowu further disputed allegations that, as part of the purported scam, billions of naira had been moved into his bank accounts, emphasising that his financial records are open and transparent.
Someone said that billions had been deposited into my account. You can see if I’ve ever gotten billions in my public accounts. This is not the place to address the abundance of false information in the media,” he stated.
The pastor said he was shocked by the accusations and that, like the general public, he found out about them through the media.
He went on to say, “I am reading some of these things as you are.”
