On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu greeted Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, on his 75th birthday, which was observed on December 25.

Tinubu praises Ganduje’s leadership and dedication as APC chairman

Tinubu commended Ganduje for his leadership, commitment, and contributions to the advancement of Kano State and Nigeria in a statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.

The president praised Ganduje’s leadership as National Chairman, pointing out that his work had brought the APC together and strengthened it while advancing the country’s development objectives. In addition, Tinubu thanked Ganduje for his dedication, assistance, and policy recommendations and urged him to keep up his good work.

The statement said, “President Tinubu remembers Ganduje’s commitment to public service, including his early position as one of the first civil servants to oversee the Federal Capital Territory’s affairs and his later work as commissioner in Kano State in the 1990s.”

A legacy of service and commitment to democracy and progress

As stated by Punch, Tinubu brought attention to Ganduje’s illustrious political career, which started in 1979 when he joined the now-defunct National Party of Nigeria. Ganduje was the deputy governor of Kano State after Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999. He was elected governor in 2015 and was reelected in 2019.

“Ganduje made important contributions as an administrator and politician while serving as governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023, leaving a lasting positive impact on the state,” Tinubu stated.

The president celebrated the party chairman’s leadership alongside Ganduje’s family, friends, and APC members. He expressed confidence in Ganduje’s continued contributions to the advancement of the APC and Nigeria and wished him continued success, happiness, and good health.
