The Government of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has promised residents a step up in development and security in 2025.
He reiterated his administration’s determination to build a livable and prosperous smart mega city in a New Year statement issued by his press secretary Christian Aburime.
Soludo said the recently signed ₦606.99 billion 2025 appropriation bill is a blueprint for infrastructural development, economic transformation and human capital growth. We allocate funds into education, healthcare and roads’ construction for instance.
Security focus: Operation Udo Ga Chi
The state government will launch “Operation Udo Ga Chi” (Operation Peace Shall Reign) however in order to strengthen security after the January 25. Over 200 security vehicles will be deployed in Anambra for enhanced surveillance and stop and search operations in implementation of this initiative. The forest guards will also receive training with the local vigilantes in more specialized forest security.
Soludo also offered an olive branch to repentant criminals, extending an amnesty window until the end of February 2025 in what he called a balanced approach to tackling insecurity. “This is a carrot and stick approach to lastingly guarantee peace and safety in our communities,” he said.
As a commitment to peace and progress
Soludo further urged the political class and stakeholders in Anambra to keep peace and decorum as Anambra enters an election year. A unified commitment towards peaceful conduct is essential for a holistic development, he stressed.
He then called on Ndi Anambra to join the government in the building of the prosperity smart mega city, and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity for all the residents by 2025.
