Social media channels erupted with joy when Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo revealed through Facebook that her child Babcock University student Oladipupo Siwajuola had returned home.

In a short Facebook status Omotayo revealed that her son had been located. The positive news about her missing son emerged from a live video broadcast where she became emotional while requesting help from Nigeria and law enforcement agencies to locate her son.

The disapperance of Oladipupo

Oladipupo was first discovered missing when Omotayo drove him personally to Babcock University at Ilishan-Remo on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The mother stated her son had disappeared without any response from Babcock University or herself that ultimately made her take her concerns public.

She implored the general public to support her demand for Babcock University to release her missing son in her live broadcast video. The lack of sleep continues for three days because I cannot discover the whereabouts of my son.

Communication director confirms missing Babcock university student found

The communication director Dr. Joshua Suleiman of Babcock University informed journalists about the advancement through direct correspondence. He received the mother’s update confirmation via WhatsApp message by responding “Yes we are aware.”

At the time of confirming the missing Babcock student found, both the university and family have failed to reveal how and where or under what conditions they located Oladipupo.

Public attention has grown since this case showed how institutions need to communicate better with students’ families when emergencies occur.
