First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu will launch Energise Commercialisation Now, the Federal Government’s flagship industrialization program, in Kano on April 23, 2026.
Kano State Commissioner Ibrahim Waiya announced the three-day event, running from April 23 to April 25, at a press conference on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology is spearheading ECoN to mobilize innovation, attract investment and accelerate industrial production across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
Kano hosts governors, innovators and investors at three-day event
The ECoN industrialization program also includes a high-level panel discussion on federal-state synergy, a mini exhibition of selected innovations and participation by governors and First Ladies from North-West states, innovators, private sector investors and development finance institutions.
“The landmark event will place Kano State and the entire North-West geopolitical zone at the forefront of Nigeria’s innovation-driven economic transformation,” Waiya said.
ECoN aims to unlock innovation and create lasting prosperity
Additionally, Waiya said the ECoN industrialization program will work with the First Lady, the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology and all stakeholders to unlock Nigeria’s innovative potential.
Furthermore, he said the initiative will create lasting prosperity across the country. Beyond Kano, ECoN will subsequently deploy across Nigeria’s remaining geopolitical zones.
