Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) condoled with the people and government of Jigawa State over fuel tanker explosion in Taura Local Government area.

More than 140 people lost their lives in the devastating incident with many others badly injured.

Ganduje, in his statement, said ‘I’m deeply saddened to hear reports of a fatal tanker explosion in Jigawa State which reportedly took over 150 lives and left many others injured.”

The 147 victims, who were scooping fuel from the tanker wreckage when it exploded, have been mass buried. According to Arewa radio, the chairman of Taura LGA, Shuaibu Hambali confirmed the rising death toll in a live broadcast.

APC supports, applauds emergency responders

Furthermore Ganduje said the incident was serious and that the party was committed to supporting relief efforts and assisting those affected. ‘We ask all Nigerians to join us in praying for the victims and their families.’

The APC Chairman also commended emergency responders and medical personnel for coming to the aid of injured people as soon as they could. Their actions are commendable, he said, and the nation should use the incident as a reminder to be safe.

“This tragedy is a sobering reminder that life is fragile and safety must be a priority in our daily lives,” he said. Both from the people of Jigawa State, as well as from us that will be there in standing with them in overcoming their loss,” Ganduje concluded.

According to The Punch, Ganduje’s message also comes at a time the community is mourning lives that have been lost and demonstrates unity in difficult times and protecting lives.
