Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a potential presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, is a workaholic who works till 2 a.m. every day, according to his aide.
Ajuri Ngelale, the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on public affairs, made this remark in an interview with Channels Television on March 7, 2021.
Ngelale, who is also a close associate of Tinubu, said that the former governor of Lagos State is one of the hardest working people he has ever met, and that he is always busy with various projects and initiatives.
He said that Tinubu works till 2 a.m. every day, and that he sometimes has to beg him to go to bed and rest. He said that Tinubu is passionate about the development of Nigeria and the welfare of its people.
He said that Tinubu has a track record of achievements and contributions to the country, especially in the areas of governance, economy, infrastructure, security and democracy.
He said that Tinubu transformed Lagos State from a chaotic and dysfunctional city to a modern and prosperous megacity, when he served as the governor from 1999 to 2007. He said that Tinubu also laid the foundation for the success of his successors, such as Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode.
He said that Tinubu also played a key role in the formation and victory of the APC, which ended the 16-year rule of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015. He said that Tinubu supported and mentored many of the current leaders of the APC, such as President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and many governors and lawmakers.
He said that Tinubu also championed the cause of democracy and human rights in Nigeria, and that he fought against the military dictatorship and the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election, which was won by the late Moshood Abiola.
He said that Tinubu Is a visionary and a statesman, who has a clear and realistic plan for the future of Nigeria. He said that Tinubu is committed to addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the country, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic recovery, the security situation, the youth empowerment, and the national unity.
He said that Tinubu Is a popular and respected leader, who has the support and endorsement of many Nigerians across the country. He said that Tinubu is a bridge-builder and a peacemaker, who has fostered cordial and cooperative relations with people from different regions, religions and ethnic groups.
He said that Tinubu Is a qualified and capable candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, and that he has the experience, the competence, the integrity and the charisma to lead the country to greater heights.
He said that Tinubu has not officially declared his intention to run for the presidency, but that he is ready and willing to serve the country if the people and the party choose him as their flagbearer.
