Shettima Arrives in Senegal for Senegal’s Independence

The Nigerian vice president Kashim Shettima traveled to Dakar Senegal on Thursday to attend the 65th Independence Day festivities on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.

A Guard of Honour provided greetings to Shettima when he reached Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport.

Shettima arrives in Senegal with Bianca Ojukwu

The representative group included Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Bianca Ojukwu, and the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Oluwole Oke  with Shettima arrives in Senegal .

The Senegalese President Bassirou Faye summoned President Tinubu to attend the event through his invitation. The official celebrations of Senegal independence day will start on Friday at the Place de la Nation which is in Dakar.

Shettima’s frequent trip most likely indicates the president’s confidence in representing him well off shores, the trips he makes while representing Nigeria has been smooth since he became the vice president, just like he also attended the 79th UNGA  in New York.
