Air Peace Limited has warned the public about a fake social media advertisement claiming the airline is offering “30 percent off Africa flights.”
In a statement issued by spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the airline said it is not running any such promotion. Described the advert as “fraudulent and not affiliated with Air Peace in any way.”
Air Peace cautions public against scammers
Furthermore, the airline urged Nigerians to ignore the misleading post. Also to avoid engaging with those behind it. The promoters, Air Peace said, are attempting to deceive unsuspecting individuals through false claims of discounted fares.
“Our attention has been drawn to a sponsored post circulating on social media, advertising a purported ‘30 percent off Africa flights’ promotion,” the company said. “We wish to categorically state that Air Peace Limited is not running any 30 percent discount promotion.”
Air Peace also warns of fake website links
The airline also raised alarm over customers trying to make bookings through unauthorised websites, particularly the domain airpeace.com. It clarified that its only official website is www.flyairpeace.com.
“For your safety and to avoid falling victim to scams, passengers are advised to use only the following official channels: Call Centre: +234 201 343 8133; Email: callcenter@flyairpeace.com; Website: www.flyairpeace.com,” the statement added.
The airline further emphasised that it will not be responsible for any transactions made through unauthorised websites or social media pages.
