Tinubu Reshuffles Cabinet, Bianca Ojukwu, Six Others Appointed As Ministers

In a major reshuffle to improve the administration’s efficiency, President Bola Tinubu, has appointed seven new ministers into his cabinet. Notable among those named was Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, now Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Tinubu’s cabinet welcomes new ministers

Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Biafra leader, Odumegwu Ojukwu has taken on the new role. She previously served as the Nigerian ambassador to Spain and as Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs.

Jumoke Oduwole will now serve as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment. Maigari Dingyadi will take on the role of Minister of Labour and Employment.

Changes in the cabinet reshuffle

The appointments came with Tinubu also reassigning several ministers to new portfolios. The Minister for State for Finance, Doris Uzoka Anite and Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Betta Edu were replaced by Dr. Nentawe Yilwada with Doris Uzoka Anite going to the State for Finance Ministry.

According to The Punch, It also brought the sacking of five ministers, including Uju Ken Ohanenye, Minister for Women’s Affairs and Tahir Mamman, Minister for Education.

“This is part of Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to fulfill his promises to Nigerians and boost the government’s capacity to function optimally,” he said.
