The Africa Creative Market (ACM) 2023 is gearing up to prioritize intellectual property rights and tap into the transformative power of technology in the continent’s thriving creative sector.

Each year, ACM pulls together influential figures from Africa and beyond, promoting innovation and fostering partnerships. Its primary goal? To uplift Africa’s creatives and help businesses reach unprecedented heights. ACM aims to reshape the African creative industry by spotlighting intellectual property and integrating technology.

According to a report by This Day Live, Local and global investors view ACM as a prime gateway to the promising African creative market. Inya Lawal, ACM’s founder, firmly believes in guiding creatives to develop sustainable and profitable business models.

ACM’s 2023 collaborations read like a who’s who of industry stalwarts. Key partnerships with giants like Paramount Africa, U.S. Consulate Lagos, 21st Century Technologies, and Venture Garden Group underscore its dedication to nurturing creativity and driving economic growth.

Furthermore, the U.S Consulate Lagos and the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs are stepping up. They will champion intellectual property standards and highlight best practices. These entities will also play a vital role in training fashion entrepreneurs on the Africa Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) to bolster U.S.-Africa trade.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) stands out, actively supporting creative initiatives like the Startup Act and the Creative Technology Program (CTP). Venture Garden Group’s TRAIL platform offers invaluable tools for entrepreneurs. The HOW Foundation’s WIGWE University provides mentorship and specialized training, while the Ascend Studios Foundation focuses on building capacities.

Bada Akintunde-Johnson, Country Manager for Paramount Africa in Nigeria, reiterates ACM’s commitment. The focus remains on enhancing Africa’s creative ecosystem, ensuring sustainable growth, profitability, and global recognition.
